Introduction
The Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) needed a modern, data-driven platform to manage, analyze, and visualize its growing portfolio of national infrastructure investments. Digiits was selected to design and develop an AI-powered portfolio and investment management platform that delivers real-time insights, automates performance tracking, and enhances strategic decision-making.
The solution provides a single digital environment where GIIF analysts, managers, and policymakers can monitor assets, model risk, and assess investment performance across sectors using predictive intelligence and data visualization.
Problem Statement / Challenges
Managing large, complex infrastructure portfolios requires accurate, real-time data, but GIIF’s legacy processes were siloed across spreadsheets and static reports. This made it difficult to:
Consolidate performance data from multiple projects and funding sources.
Conduct predictive and comparative analysis on portfolio performance.
Generate dynamic investment dashboards for executive decision-making.
Integrate new data sources without major technical overhead.
GIIF needed a secure, intelligent, and scalable digital platform to unify its investment operations and leverage AI for smarter portfolio management.
Design process
Digiits began with a strategic discovery phase that involved stakeholder workshops, process mapping, and data architecture assessment. We studied GIIF’s investment workflows from project origination and due diligence to funding, monitoring, and exit to design a system tailored to their operational and reporting needs.
Our design and product teams created low-fidelity prototypes to visualize dashboards, risk matrices, and KPI trackers. User feedback sessions refined navigation, charting layouts, and role-based access flows. The goal was to design a data-rich yet intuitive interface where complex analytics could be visualized clearly for financial experts and policymakers alike.
Solution / Approach
Digiits engineered an end-to-end AI-enabled portfolio and investment management software built on a modular, data-driven architecture.
Core Features & Capabilities
Portfolio Management Dashboard: Real-time overview of all active and pipeline investments with performance indicators, returns, and risk exposure.
AI-Driven Analytics Engine: Machine learning models that analyze historical performance and predict investment risk, yield trends, and project outcomes.
Data Graph Visualization (Neo4j): Relationship mapping between projects, funding entities, and assets to expose dependencies and portfolio synergies.
Automated Reporting: Dynamic generation of investment summaries, performance dashboards, and compliance reports.
Scenario Modelling Tools: Simulation environment for forecasting ROI and project impact under different macroeconomic scenarios.
Role-Based Access & Security: Multi-tier access for analysts, portfolio managers, and executive leadership with full audit trails.
The platform was designed as cloud-native and integrates easily with GIIF’s data repositories, third-party financial systems, and data lakes.
