Introduction
YouPlay helps athletes showcase their talent, connect with recruiters, and build their sports careers. It’s a modern recruitment and discovery platform empowering the next generation of African athletes to go pro.
Problem Statement / Challenges
Talented athletes across Africa often struggle to get discovered due to limited access to scouting networks and organized recruitment systems. Many rely on informal referrals or local tournaments that rarely lead to exposure. YouPlay set out to bridge this gap by building a digital platform where players can showcase their skills, connect with recruiters, and access verified opportunities. The challenge was designing a trusted, high-energy experience that appeals to both young athletes and professional scouts.
Design process
Creating a marketplace that feels both familiar and trustworthy was key.
Researched existing gaps in sports discovery and scouting in Africa.
Defined user flows for athlete onboarding, profile setup, and recruiter search.
Designed highlight cards and stat displays that emphasize player potential.
Tested layouts for performance video uploads and clean data presentation.
